How to detect GPS's current port

May 27, 2010 at 4:50 PM

Hi all,

I would like to know that is there a way to detect GPS's current port (COM1, COM2 or COM3)? and is there a way GPS.NET can select a specific GPS device from 2 or more GPS devices which are attached on the same PC?

Thank you for your help.

Yes and yes.

You can use the Devices.GpsDevices property to enumerate all of the detected GPS devices on the system.  Or if you only care about bluetooth or serial devices, then you can use the Devices.BluetoothDevices or Devices.SerialDevices property instead.

You can use the SerialDevice.Port or SerialDevice.PortNumber property to determine the COM port number of any given serial device.
